Prescriptions

If you have registered for online facilities, you can use Patient Access to order repeat prescriptions.

Requests for repeat prescriptions cannot be taken over the telephone (except for housebound patients). Prescriptions are usually sent electronically to your designated pharmacy – please inform reception if you wish to add/amend your pharmacy.

All repeat prescription requests take 2 working days to be processed and will usually be available after 16:00 on the second working day after being placed. Prescriptions will then be sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy.

It is important that you select only the items you require. You may prefer to post your repeat prescription request to us enclosing a stamped, self-addressed envelope and then we can post your prescription back to you.

If you wish to deliver your request for a repeat prescription to the surgery, there is a mailbox in the entrance marked “Prescriptions” which is collected regularly – this will save you time waiting at the reception desk. We have arrangements with some local chemists that will deliver prescriptions to the elderly or housebound – please ask at reception for further information.

Please note – Due to a high volume of phone calls the Practice will only take phone calls regarding prescriptions/medication after 10:00 am.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these medications and notification should appear on your repeat prescription slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
